Dei Group Unpacks Bella Grain Wheat Flour to Boost Uganda’s Baking Industry and Food Security

In a strategic move to uplift Uganda’s baking sector, Dei Group of Companies has officially launched Bella Grain Wheat Flour, a premium product tailored to meet the evolving demands of both commercial and home bakers.

The unveiling ceremony, held at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel, marked a major milestone for the company as it reaffirmed its commitment to quality, consistency, and innovation in the local food production space.

Ronald Ssemakula Katali, the General Manager of Dei Group, described Bella Grain as a timely solution to the persistent challenges faced by bakers across the country.

“Bella Grain is more than just flour — it’s a game-changer for Uganda’s baking scene. We developed it to solve long-standing quality issues, while also offering bakers better efficiency and higher yields per kilo,” he remarked.

Produced under Dei Industries International Ltd, Bella Grain flour adheres to international quality standards and comes in specialized variants such as Bakers’ Flour for professional baking and Home Baking Flour for everyday pastries like chapatis and mandazi.

The introduction of this product adds another chapter to Dei Group’s rapidly expanding portfolio, which already includes Dei Organics and Dei Biopharma — the latter operating the largest pharmaceutical facility in Africa.

“This launch also marks our gratitude to the loyal clients who’ve supported us over the years,” Katali said. “We’ve rebranded and reimagined our flour offering to raise the bar in the market.”

Dr. Mathias Magoola, Managing Director of Dei Group, emphasized the company’s broader vision for national impact.

“Thanks to the unwavering support of our clients and a favorable business climate, we aim to create over 40,000 jobs and become one of Uganda’s top taxpayers in the coming years,” he stated.

Executive Director Kellen Magoola echoed the group’s confidence in its re-entry into the flour market.

“Our roots in flour production run deep. After a decade in the business, we’re re-emerging stronger, ready to set new standards and shake up the competition,” she said.

With Bella Grain officially on the shelves, Dei Group has taken a bold step toward reshaping Uganda’s food processing landscape — signaling growth not only for the company but also for the entire baking industry.
