In the ever-evolving landscape of entrepreneurship, one name is making waves both at home and abroad—Sharrot Arishaba. A bold visionary, strategic leader, and passionate advocate for women and youth, Sharrot is reshaping Uganda’s agricultural and logistics sectors while leaving an indelible mark on global trade.
As the Founder and Executive Director of Prest Foods Ltd, Sharrot has turned a local enterprise into a thriving export powerhouse. Specializing in premium organic frozen foods and dry goods, Prest Foods supplies high-demand markets in Canada, the United States, Austria, and Oman. More than just a business, Prest Foods is a mission-driven venture—uplifting Ugandan farmers by linking them to sustainable international markets, enhancing incomes, and elevating communities.
But her influence doesn’t end there.
Through her second enterprise, Wajas Logistics Ltd, Sharrot offers vital logistics, clearing, and forwarding services, ensuring that Ugandan goods flow seamlessly across borders. Her deep-rooted knowledge of exportation and logistics has made her an unstoppable force in international commerce—a rare blend of entrepreneurial acumen and development-minded strategy.
Yet, perhaps the most profound impact of her work is seen through her nonprofit arm, the Prest Foods Foundation. Under her leadership, the foundation spearheads transformative community programs such as “Ndimurungi,” which directly supports orphans and widows while offering practical training to women and youth. These programs address systemic issues of poverty and inequality with hands-on, sustainable solutions that empower from the ground up.
Sharrot’s commitment to empowerment is strengthened through strategic partnerships with organizations like Agrifarm, Women of Valor Foundation, and Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBW-Africa), where she also serves as Deputy Country Director. Together, they provide in-depth training on the entire agricultural value chain—from production and harvesting to branding and distribution. Participants also gain vital skills in climate-smart agriculture, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and strategic planning.
“True empowerment is holistic,” Sharrot often says, and her programs reflect this ethos—combining technical knowledge with mentorship and market access, ensuring long-term success in agribusiness and leadership for Uganda’s next generation.
At the heart of it all is a woman who juggles numerous responsibilities with grace. Beyond the boardrooms and training fields, Sharrot is a proud wife and mother to two young boys—Aiden (6) and Aaron (4). Her life is a vibrant testament to balance, resilience, and vision.
Sharrot Arishaba is not just building businesses—she’s building futures. Her journey proves that when purpose meets passion, and when local ambition connects to global opportunity, transformation is not only possible—it’s inevitable.
For Uganda, for Africa, and for the world—Sharrot is a name to watch.
