Rajiv Ruparelia, the managing director of the Ruparelia Group and son of prominent Ugandan tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia, tragically died early Saturday in a car accident near the Busabala Flyover, police have confirmed.
In a statement issued by deputy police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyire, authorities reported that the crash took place at approximately 1:54 a.m. at the traffic lights on the Busabala Flyover, located in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso District.

According to police, Ruparelia was driving a Nissan GTR from Kajjansi toward Munyonyo when he collided with temporary pavements set up at a roundabout on the flyover.
The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and burst into flames, leading to Ruparelia’s instant death.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident and say they will provide additional details as they become available.
