Seth Murari Declares Candidacy for Mbarara City Mayorship

Seth Murari has officially declared his candidacy for the Mbarara City Mayorship, an announcement was made last month that was met with enthusiasm by many city residents, who affectionately refer to him as “Muzahura wa City Yeitu” (the savior of our city).

Hon. Murari has gained significant recognition for his proactive role in promoting a “Clean Mbarara City” initiative through the annual SAVE RIVER RWIZI MARATHON.

This event serves to raise awareness about the threats facing River Rwizi and to establish sustainable waste management solutions for the city. His efforts have led to the construction of several underground waste bunkers, aimed at safeguarding the river and ensuring a cleaner urban environment.

Beyond environmental concerns, Hon. Murari has been a consistent supporter of sports within Mbarara City. He is widely known for organizing successful moto rallies at Booma Grounds, events that consistently attract large crowds from diverse backgrounds and stimulate local businesses.

And last weekend on Saturday, May 3, 2025, held a football match at the Global High School playgrounds between Mbarara Taxi Operators and the Garage Operators Association.

Murari officiated the game which symbolizes more than just sport. It marks the beginning of a people-centered movement aimed at rebuilding trust, dignity, and collaboration among everyday citizens.

His platform emphasizes a clear vision for the growth and development of Mbarara City, leveraging his expertise and broad experience to propel the city to new levels of progress.

Being a native of Mbarara, Hon. Murari possesses a deep understanding of the city’s challenges and the internal obstacles that have hindered its development. Many believe that his entry into the mayoral race will bring about a significant positive transformation for Mbarara City.
