Halima Namakula Defends Spice Diana Against Pressure to Settle Down

Veteran singer and mentor Halima Namakula has spoken out in defense of young female artists particularly pop star Spice Diana amid growing public and media pressure for them to get married and start families.

In recent months, Spice Diana has been repeatedly questioned about when she plans to tie the knot or have children. But Halima believes such expectations are both premature and unfair, especially as the singer’s career continues to soar.

“Everyone is asking Spice about having a husband and children, but she’s still very young,” Halima said during a media interview. “Her focus right now is on her thriving music career. It’s difficult to juggle the demands of motherhood with the momentum she currently has.”

The “Ekimbewo” singer emphasized that Spice Diana, who is still in her 20s, deserves the freedom to enjoy her youth and build her career without societal pressure.

“To me, anyone under 30 is still young. We should give these girls space to live fully, grow, and pursue their dreams without rushing them into roles they’re not ready for,” Halima added.

She also called on society particularly men to stop placing timelines on women’s lives and allow them to come into their own naturally and confidently.
