All roads lead to an eagerly awaited celebration of leadership and empowerment as Kairungi Salma Otika prepares for her official installation as Director of the Commonwealth Business Women Africa (CBW Africa) – Uganda Chapter, set to take place on Saturday, May 24th, 2025.
The upcoming installation ceremony is expected to bring together a distinguished group of leaders, entrepreneurs, Rotarians, and changemakers from across Uganda and the Commonwealth. Guests will gather to honor a woman whose contributions to business, sports, and community development have positioned her as a transformative force in Uganda and beyond.
A passionate philanthropist, dynamic entrepreneur, and Certified Sports Administrator, Salma’s appointment to this influential role marks a significant milestone in her journey of impact and advocacy. Reflecting on the opportunity, she shared:
“I am humbled and extremely excited to announce that I recently accepted the role of Director of Commonwealth Business Women Africa – Uganda Chapter. It is my greatest pleasure to step into this position and continue to use the influence it grants me to further advocate for women and pave the way for other amazing women after me. It’s always a pleasure to be in position to create impact. Together we rise.”
Salma’s distinguished career spans multiple sectors. She is the owner of a company that organizes sports events and deals in sports equipment and apparel, supporting athletes and fostering sports development. In addition, she is a seasoned Sports Events Coordinator and Match General Coordinator with FUFA and currently serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Uganda Volleyball Federation, where she champions the inclusion of women in sports and talent development across schools and communities.
Her entrepreneurial footprint extends to the hospitality industry, with a network of furnished accommodation rentals across Uganda. She also plays vital roles in various community empowerment initiatives as the Vice Chairperson of the Visionary Amigos Investment Club, a member of the Hands That Give Foundation, and a proud Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Kyadondo.
As the incoming Country Director of CBW Africa – Uganda Chapter, Salma brings a bold vision rooted in mentorship, strategic partnerships, and the empowerment of women across all levels of society. The May 24th installation ceremony will serve as a powerful affirmation of her leadership and the collective commitment to advancing the mission of CBW Africa.
