Renowned Ugandan songstress Juliana Kanyomozi has lavished praise on Bebe Cool’s soon-to-be-released album Break the Chains, describing it as the most impressive Ugandan music project she has heard—both in terms of sound and international appeal.
In a video shared on Monday, Juliana spoke following an invitation to an exclusive listening session for the album, which is scheduled to drop on major streaming platforms on Friday, May 30.
“What strikes me most is how different and versatile Bebe Cool sounds. His ability to evolve musically is something I truly respect,” Juliana remarked during the video.
Break the Chains has already stirred excitement within the Ugandan music community. Its first two singles, “Circumference” and “Motivation,” released in December, have not only trended but also sparked conversation over Bebe Cool’s shift in musical direction—drawing both admiration and debate from fans and critics alike.
Having shared the stage with Bebe Cool for over two decades, Juliana expressed appreciation for being part of the preview, emphasizing how the album reflects artistic growth.
“You can clearly hear maturity and purpose in this body of work. It’s a new Bebe Cool—one who’s pushing boundaries and setting a bar not just for himself, but for the entire industry,” she added.
Juliana singled out a track titled “Home” as her personal favorite. Sources close to the project reveal the song showcases lush string arrangements by acclaimed guitarist and composer Myko Ouma, blending a modern pop sensibility with the rhythmic charm reminiscent of Bebe Cool’s earlier hit “Love You Everyday.”
Originally announced at the start of the year, Break the Chains sees Bebe Cool collaborating with top-tier producers, including Philkeys, who handled production on the lead single “Circumference.”
Once released, the full album will be accessible on platforms such as Spotify, Tidal, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and Boomplay.
