Tooro Kingdom to Host Majestic Four-Day Ekyooto Ha Mpango Festival in September

The Tooro Kingdom, in partnership with Talent Africa Group, is gearing up for a major cultural extravaganza to honor the 30th coronation anniversary of His Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. Dubbed “Ekyooto Ha Mpango,” the festival will unfold in the picturesque city of Fort Portal from September 10 to 13, 2025.

This landmark celebration will bring together royalty, citizens, and visitors from across the country and beyond, in a colorful fusion of heritage, music, art, and tourism.

Honoring Three Decades of Leadership

King Oyo, who became monarch at just three years old in 1995, has since become a symbol of resilience, modernization, and cultural pride for the Tooro Kingdom. Over the past three decades, he has led various initiatives promoting education, health, and tourism, while safeguarding the kingdom’s traditions.

A Showcase of Uganda’s Rich Cultural Mosaic

The Ekyooto Ha Mpango celebration promises an immersive experience into the heart of Ugandan culture. Attendees can look forward to vibrant music concerts featuring top local and international artists, as well as a glamorous fashion show that will spotlight both traditional wear and modern Ugandan design.

Art lovers will enjoy exhibitions showcasing Tooro’s historical artifacts, handmade crafts, and visual storytelling, while cultural enthusiasts can participate in traditional dance sessions and folklore storytelling.

Exploring Fort Portal’s Natural Beauty

The festival will also serve as a gateway to tourism, with guided excursions to Fort Portal’s scenic treasures, including the mystical Rwenzori Mountains and surrounding national parks. These tours are expected to boost domestic and international interest in the region’s ecological and cultural heritage.

Sport, Community, and Unity

Beyond the entertainment and cultural displays, Ekyooto Ha Mpango will incorporate community-driven sporting activities aimed at promoting wellness and unity among participants.

With its wide-ranging program, the festival is expected to attract a diverse crowd—from cultural tourists and heritage enthusiasts to musicians and fashion aficionados.

A Call for Support

As preparations intensify, the Tooro Kingdom and Talent Africa Group are inviting corporate sponsors and cultural partners to join hands in making this historic milestone a resounding success.

Ekyooto Ha Mpango is more than a celebration—it’s a testament to 30 years of leadership, cultural pride, and the enduring spirit of Tooro.
