Journalist and political aspirant Zambaali Bulasio Mukasa has firmly ruled out the possibility of contesting as an independent candidate in the 2026 general elections should the National Unity Platform (NUP) decline to endorse him for the Nansana Municipality Member of Parliament seat.
In a recent interview, Zambaali made it clear that his political journey is deeply rooted in the values and direction of NUP, the opposition party led by Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine.

He said that his commitment to the party and its mission for political transformation in Uganda is unwavering.
I will not stand as an independent if my party decides that I am not the best candidate to represent the people of Nansana. I joined active politics for the common goal of pushing for change.
The media personality turned politician added that he has faith in the NUP’s internal democratic processes and will abide by the party’s final decision, regardless of the outcome.
I believe in the party’s process, and I am willing to go by its decision.
