Over the weekend, the Miss Tourism Uganda regional search moved to the Eastern region, confirming its latest set of tourism ambassadors. The event, held on Saturday at Majik Resort in Busia District, saw 21-year-old Amali Phiona Rhoda from Tororo District crowned as the regional queen.
Amali impressed the judges with her poise, eloquence, and understanding of tourism advocacy, securing the top position among the three finalists who will go on to represent the region at the national grand finale on September 5, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
Joining her on the podium were Khaitsa Mary and Maka Asha, who were named first and second runners-up, respectively. The well-organized event drew attention both on and offline, with some social media users expressing mixed opinions about the final outcome — particularly regarding conventional beauty standards — despite Amali’s strong performance across all judging criteria.
With Eastern Uganda now represented, anticipation continues to build for the national event that will crown the next Miss Tourism Uganda.
