The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) will hold its mayoral primaries across all districts this Thursday, July 24th.
In Mbarara City, all eyes are on Seth Murari — a rising political figure whose popularity, particularly among the youth, continues to surge. Known for his deep involvement in sports and youth initiatives, Murari has earned a reputation as a unifier and changemaker, even without holding formal political office.
His bid for the Mbarara City mayorship is being widely embraced by young voters who view his candidacy as a chance to elevate a leader who has consistently advocated for their growth and wellbeing. From organizing sports tournaments to community empowerment drives, Murari has created lasting impact at the grassroots level, building a network of trust and hope across the city.
“I’m confident about the upcoming primaries,” Murari shared. “I’m ready to elevate Mbarara City and bring fresh, people-centered leadership.”
Previously serving in the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), a key structure within the NRM, Murari was instrumental in revitalizing youth engagement — not just in Kampala but also back home in Mbarara. Through his initiatives, many previously disengaged young people reconnected with the party and found renewed purpose.
Across social media, local communities, and opinion leaders, Murari’s name is gaining traction as a symbol of progressive leadership and positive change — qualities many believe Mbarara City urgently needs.
