Iwacu Heza Returns for Its 9th Edition with Culture, Music, and Giving Back

Iwacu Heza is back with its 9th edition, promising an unforgettable celebration of Bafumbira, Banyarwanda, and Barundi cultures blended with a fresh contemporary touch. The cultural showcase will take place on August 23rd at UMA Show Grounds, Lugogo, bringing together art, tradition, and community spirit under one vibrant roof.

This year’s edition will feature a rich lineup of activities from music, dance, and fashion, to the best of traditional cuisines. Top performers set to grace the stage include Feffe Bussi, Laika, Fernando from Burundi, DJ Flixx, DJ Emmat, Bank Robber, Ingenzi cultural troupe, Monalisa alongside Sandra Teta, all bringing the energy to celebrate heritage in style.

But Iwacu Heza isn’t just about entertainment it’s also about impact. Each edition gives back to the community, and this year organizers will donate wheelchairs to people in need, offering not just mobility but also a sense of dignity and freedom.

Tickets are already on sale via quicket.co.ug, with physical tickets available at the gate:

Speaking ahead of the event, organizer Gilbert Nsanzimfura said, “Iwacu Heza is more than just a cultural festival, it’s a platform where we celebrate who we are while also uplifting those around us. This year, we are not only showcasing music and culture but also giving back by restoring movement and hope through our wheelchair donations.”
