Dokta Brain Leaves Zhafar Music Agency Over their working terms

Singer and songwriter Dokta Brain has announced that he parted ways with Zhafar Music Agency after close to five months of working together.

In a TV interview, Dokta Brain revealed that they disagreed on their working terms. According to him, he was moving at a very high pace and had bigger dreams; something they couldn’t catch up with.

“I was running at a higher pace and had bigger dreams. I was being slowed down. Perhaps they have their own reasons, but the most important thing I credit them for is making the production possible. We had the same dream, and they funded my album.

Dokta Brain, however, refused to discuss the contents of the contract that they signed due to the Non-Disclosure Agreement.

He joined the Zhafar Music agency in March, and they had plans of rebranding. He deleted all the old content from his social media platforms, taking a new path which he is still embracing to date. They worked hand-in-hand and released his V.A.T. EP, whose production the label fully funded.

It, however, didn’t work out as expected, mainly because he was introducing a new sound that Ugandans were not familiar with.

They had plans of touring Africa to promote the album under the funding of Zhafar, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen.

“I rebranded when I got new management. I appreciated it so much. It is sad that we are no longer working together but I’m still on the journey that we started. I wanted Ugandans to love that album so much but it would have made sense if it had trended in countries where that sound is normal and came back to Uganda as an effect. Ugandans love jumping on trends and rarely make any,” he said.

Despite not achieving the expected results, Dokta Brain gave credit to the producers, who he says mixed and mastered it to his satisfaction. He promised that he would go ahead and shoot videos for the songs on the list.

“The album didn’t work out well for me like I expected, but the good thing was that it was mastered well. I appreciate Herbert’s Skills and all the guys who did the beats. The music is still good; we could still shoot the videos and promote it where it deserves,” he said.
