Born in Uganda, Mark’s path was shaped by witnessing firsthand the barriers communities face in accessing healthcare services. This experience inspired his lifelong commitment to ensuring that individuals, especially those from underserved populations, receive timely and dignified care.
When you meet Muganga Mark Kastiita, you immediately sense a man whose life has been shaped by purpose.
His journey began in Uganda, a country where access to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services has long been a struggle. For many, these services remain out of reach, limited by stigma, inequality, and inadequate resources.
For Mark, that reality was not just an observation; it was a calling. “I wanted to change that,” Mark often reflects. “I wanted to be part of the solution, helping my community access the care they deserve.” That desire set him on a path that was anything but ordinary. Determined to create change, Mark pursued training as a Medical Assistant Nurse.

It wasn’t just a career choice, it was a mission. He wanted the skills that would allow him to meet people at their most vulnerable moments and offer more than treatment: hope, dignity, and compassion. Today, Mark is based in Canada, where he studied at the Academy of Learning Career College, Mississauga East, Ontario.
But his roots in Uganda remain central to his identity and his advocacy. Every step he has taken abroad is deeply connected to the struggles he witnessed back home. Beyond nursing, Mark has become a Social Worker, SRHR Communication Advisor, and Human Rights Advocate.
His voice carries weight in conversations around anti-racism, anti-oppression, and crisis intervention. He doesn’t shy away from difficult spaces; instead, he steps into them, guided by empathy and an unshakable belief in equity. As an ASIST interventionist and Crisis Intervention Specialist, Mark has also committed himself to supporting individuals in their darkest hours.
Whether it’s a moment of mental health crisis or a broader struggle against systemic injustice, he brings with him a steady presence and a fierce determination to protect life and dignity.
Mark’s journey, from the limitations of healthcare in Uganda to the opportunities of education and advocacy in Canada, is not just his own. It’s a story of resilience, courage, and unwavering service. It is proof that change begins with one person who refuses to accept things as they are and instead chooses to build what they should be. And for Muganga Mark Kastiita, this is just the beginning.
