The strategic partnership between BrighterMonday Uganda and the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Female Campus, Kabojja, culminated today in the successful execution of a comprehensive Career Clinic. The event, held under the theme “Her Path, Her Power: Empowering Young Women for the Future of Work,” delivered hands-on training and mentorship, directly addressing the skills required for modern employment.

The clinic’s full-day schedule provided IUIU students with invaluable exposure to current industry trends and practical skill development.
Associate Prof. Hajjat Nabukeera Madinah, Director of IUIU Kabojja Campus, opened the session, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to graduate employability. “Our collaboration with BrighterMonday is vital. Today, our students didn’t just listen; they learned how to apply modern tools and essential soft skills, securing a competitive edge in the job market.”
Focus on Digital Skills and Career Navigation
A significant feature of the clinic was the dedicated session, “Leveraging AI for Career Growth,” led by the BrighterMonday Learning & Development Team.
● AI Integration: Students received a hands-on demonstration of the BrighterMonday AI Career Tool, learning how to instantly create professional CVs and cover letters, and prepare effectively for interviews using artificial intelligence.
● Expert Insight: The Panel Discussion, “Navigating Careers in a Changing World,” moderated by Eunice Katushabe, featured industry experts including Dalauis Lutale and Sandra Ajwang, who offered candid advice on women in leadership, career pivoting, and confidence-building.
● Youth Voices: The “My Journey, My Dream” segment allowed selected IUIU youth to share reflections on their career aspirations, fostering peer-to-peer inspiration.

The afternoon was dedicated to intensive, parallel sessions designed for maximum impact:
● One-on-One Mock Interviews: Professionals from BrighterMonday conducted personalized mock interviews, giving students immediate, constructive feedback on their performance and communication style.
● Practical Workshops: Small-group sessions focused on critical skills, including advanced CV and cover letter writing, soft skills refinement, and using digital tools for job searching.
● Talent Showcase: The day concluded with a high-energy Career Pitch Challenge, where youth presented innovative ideas, demonstrating their problem-solving skills and creativity to the panel.
