Makerere University has officially confirmed that its 76th Graduation Ceremony will take place over four days, from Tuesday, February 24 to Friday, February 27, 2026.
The announcement aims to provide clear guidance to graduating students and the wider public in advance of this key academic occasion.
In a statement released on January 20, 2026, the university affirmed that the event will proceed on the planned dates. It added that full graduation schedules, along with any required standard operating procedures, will be shared through official channels at the appropriate time.
The institution also outlined revisions to its academic calendar in line with instructions from the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Under the updated timetable, Semester Two of the 2025/2026 academic year will now commence on February 10, 2026.
Makerere explained that Semester Two will therefore extend from February 10 through to June 6, 2026.
These modifications ensure the university’s operations remain consistent with national directives issued to all educational institutions across the country.
By finalizing the graduation timeline, Makerere enables its graduating cohort—particularly finalists—to make necessary preparations.
The ceremony stands as one of the university’s most important yearly milestones, during which degrees and other qualifications are formally awarded.
