Uganda Premier League side BUL FC have officially confirmed the exit of 10 players whose contracts have expired.
The departing players are: Nicholas Mwere (who is reportedly heading to reigning champions Vipers SC), Ibrahim Orit, Fredrick Ngalo, Bakali Magunda, Viane Ssekajugo, Thomas Ochungo, Jeromy Kirya, Julius Barasa, Isaac Wagoina, and Karim Ndugwa.
In a statement, the club said: “Following a thorough end-of-season review, the club confirms that all players whose contracts have expired this summer will not be renewed ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.”
BUL described the decision as part of their long-term strategy to refresh the squad, invest in young talent from their development system, and build a stronger team capable of competing at the highest level.
The club expressed gratitude to the outgoing players: “To every player leaving us: thank you for your service, commitment and contribution to the Eastern Giants. You will always be part of the BUL FC family. We wish you every success in the next chapter of your careers.”
Karim Ndugwa was one of the standout performers, netting eight goals last season — matching his tally from the 2024/25 campaign.
On the other hand, Isaac Wagoina struggled to replicate his earlier form, scoring only five league goals in two seasons after joining from Express FC, where he had scored 14 goals in the 2023/24 season.
BUL, coached by Alex Isabirye, finished ninth on the Uganda Premier League table last season with 37 points.
The club added that preparations to strengthen the squad for the new season are already underway, with announcements regarding new signings and retained players expected soon.
