Police Arrest Suspect Linked to Viral Video on Criminal Activities Along Jinja Road

Uganda Police have arrested a man in connection with a viral video circulating on social media, including on platform X. In the video, the individual appears to reference criminal activities allegedly occurring along Jinja Road and in the Banda area.

The arrest took place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at around 12:00 noon by officers from Banda Police Post. The suspect has been identified as Wafula Solomon, a 27-year-old resident of Banda Zone III, Banda Parish, Nakawa Division in Kampala District.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the production of the video. They are also examining whether the suspect or any individuals mentioned in it have been involved in actual criminal acts committed along Jinja Road and surrounding areas.

Police have cautioned the public against creating, sharing, or circulating any content that glorifies, promotes, or appears to endorse criminal activity. Such actions, they warned, will not be tolerated as they can undermine efforts to fight crime and maintain public safety.

Investigations remain ongoing to identify all persons referenced in the video and determine their possible involvement in criminal activities. Appropriate legal action will be taken against anyone found to have participated in such offences.

The statement was issued by ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police.
