Eastern Equatoria State Governor Gen. Louis Lobong Lojore has announced a major reshuffle in the state government through several gubernatorial decrees issued on June 30, 2026.
The changes include suspensions of senior officials, new appointments to key commissions, and the naming of caretaker county commissioners and chief administrators to improve governance and service delivery.
Key Appointments:
- Christine Kato Adelino – Acting Chairperson, State Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (replacing suspended Augustine Okuma Albert)
- Matthew Ugwak Kidi – Caretaker Deputy Chairperson, State Investment Corporation
- Jackson Lokuru Achulkol – Caretaker Deputy Chairperson, State Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Commission
- Ebul Simon Ohuro – Chairperson, State Insurance and Regulatory Authority
County and Administrative Area Appointments:
- Lohure Timon Robert – Caretaker Commissioner, Ikwoto County
- Angelo Marko Loteam – Caretaker Commissioner, Kapoeta East County
- Lohuyoro Peter Onyang – Chief Administrator, Kidepo Valley Administrative Area
- John Lotede Remijpo – Chief Administrator, Kimotong Administrative Area
- Natabo Abraham Nyitak – Chief Administrator, Kassengor Administrative Area
- Lopoyok Augustine Jervase – Chief Administrator, Ngauro Administrative Area
The decrees also announced the indefinite suspension of several officials, including Augustine Okuma Albert, Matthew Ugwak Kidi, Loboi Timon Lolori (former Ikwoto County Commissioner), Koma Godfrey Iligo, and Joseph Hiteng Loyaris.
Governor Lobong thanked some of the outgoing officials for their service to the people of Eastern Equatoria State.Reacting to the changes, Tito Abas, Executive Director of Ikotos County, described the reshuffle as a normal exercise of governmental authority.
He urged the new Ikwoto commissioner to prioritize peace, security, and community cooperation for better service delivery.
In Kapoeta East County, youth leaders welcomed the appointment of Angelo Marko Loteam, especially following the killing of the previous commissioner, Stephen Lowosio Lomongin.
They called on him to promote unity across border communities with Ethiopia, Uganda, and Kenya, strengthen security, and address service delivery gaps.
The reshuffle comes as Eastern Equatoria State grapples with ongoing security challenges, including cross-border insecurity and communal conflicts.
