Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have officially unveiled DR Congo centre-back Jacques Mangoba as their latest signing for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

The 25-year-old right-footed defender joins the Venoms from DR Congo side AS Simba Kamikaze.

He previously played for Angolan club Sagrada Esperança and powerhouse AS Vita Club in his home country, bringing valuable regional experience to the Vipers backline.

Mangoba becomes Vipers’ second confirmed acquisition of the transfer window, following the arrival of midfielder Joel Sserunjogi. The move strengthens an already competitive central defence that features Hillary Mukundane, Kevin Da Sylva Bady, Rogers Torach, Livingstone Mulondo, and Patrick Paul Mbowa.

Speaking on the signing, Vipers are looking to bolster their squad depth as they prepare for a challenging campaign that includes domestic title defence and CAF Champions League preliminary rounds.

The club has also reinforced its technical bench with the appointment of French coach Denis Lavagne as head coach, signalling serious ambitions for the new season.

Mangoba’s arrival is expected to add physicality, aerial prowess, and tactical versatility to Vipers’ defensive setup as they aim to dominate both locally and on the continental stage.
