Uganda Premier League club Lugazi FC have finalized the acquisition of attacking midfielder Christopher Birungi from Nyendo FC, a side competing in the Buganda Regional League.

The player has signed a four-year deal with his new club and is set to link up with his teammates as the team ramps up preparations for the 2026/27 season.

Birungi started his football journey at Tooro Stars FC.

He later turned out for Kasese New Villa in the Western Regional League and the FUFA Big League between 2017 and 2019.

He spent two seasons at Ntoda FC before joining Nyamityobora FC for the 2021/22 season.

The midfielder then featured for Entebbe Pride FC across the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns.

In the first half of the 2025/26 season, he played for Buwambo FC.

His strong showings at Nyendo FC — where he netted six goals and registered 10 assists — earned him the move to the top-flight side Lugazi FC.
