KCCA FC has confirmed that striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe has sealed a permanent move to Iraqi Stars League club Zakho Sports Club.

Although the forward was first introduced in June, the deal was earlier reported to have collapsed.

Prior to this, KCCA held talks with Tanzania’s Azam FC, but those discussions also failed to reach a conclusion.

Nicknamed “The Hunter,” Ahimbisibwe departs the Kasasiro Boys after only one season at Lugogo, during which he emerged as one of the Uganda Premier League’s most clinical forwards.

In the 2025/26 season he featured in 27 league matches, netting 14 goals and registering three assists.

That strong showing earned him the UPL Golden Boot as the competition’s leading scorer, extending KCCA FC’s history of producing top goal-getters.

Ahimbisibwe arrived at KCCA before the 2025/26 campaign and rapidly became a central figure in the team’s attacking line, with his sharp finishing and high work rate proving decisive throughout the season.

He is the newest Ugandan player to head to Iraq as he embarks on the next stage of his career with Zakho Sports Club.

KCCA FC expressed gratitude for Ahimbisibwe’s contributions while at the club and wished him every success in his new challenge.
