Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba met American actor and musician Tyrese Gibson to explore strategic plans for advancing Uganda’s tourism industry, unlocking the nation’s economic opportunities, and creating a robust partnership that benefits both sides.

In their discussions, the Fast & Furious star and Gen. Kainerugaba examined ways to showcase Uganda’s natural wealth, cultural variety and tourism offerings to an international audience.

The meeting, which took place in Entebbe, concentrated on building lasting links between global creative personalities and domestic sectors.

The aim is to attract international investment, strengthen Uganda’s destination brand and encourage lasting economic cooperation, with particular attention given to empowering young people and generating employment through skills training and local content creation.

During his visit, Gibson also met President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni at State House.

Their talks covered possibilities in the creative arts, tourism and common African heritage, as well as a potential strategic partnership with the government to position the film industry as a major engine of economic growth.

Gen. Kainerugaba praised Gibson for travelling to Uganda and taking part in efforts that draw global attention to the country’s distinctive advantages.

Gibson’s programme includes visits to major cultural sites and interactions with key figures in the national tourism sector.
