David Tamale, a journalist with Bukedde TV, has died.

Colleagues confirmed that he passed away in the early hours of Tuesday at a hospital in Masaka.

According to his workmates, Tamale had been struggling with a pressure-related illness since the start of the year.

The condition had left him in poor health for several months.

Tamale served as a political reporter at the station and was a key member of the team that produces the popular Luganda-language news bulletin Agataliiko Nfuufu.

His sudden death has shocked colleagues and the wider media fraternity, who are mourning a journalist known for his active role in political coverage on the widely watched programme.
