KCCA FC head coach Brian Ssenyondo is under early-season pressure as his side hosts Kataka FC in the Uganda Premier League on Wednesday at Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The Cityzens have managed just one point from their first three matches, leaving Ssenyondo searching for a first win of the campaign.
Their most recent outing ended in a goalless draw against Kigezi HomeBoyz in Kamwenge, following home defeats to NEC and a 2-0 loss to Express at Nakivubo.
Ssenyondo will be hoping for a sharper display when KCCA face the newly promoted side at 4:00 pm.
Kataka themselves have collected only one point from two matches so far.
They drew 0-0 with UPDF before suffering a heavy 4-1 home defeat to BUL.
Their fixture against Vipers was postponed because of the Venoms’ CAF Champions League commitments.
KCCA have received a boost with the return of midfielder Ibrahim Kasule, who missed the trip to Kigezi on compassionate leave.
Forward Emmanuel Anyama is also available after recovering from a pre-season injury and is expected to be included in the matchday squad for the first time this season.
However, Gabonese midfielder Axel Mezui is sidelined after picking up a knock in training.
Academy products Derrick Ssozi and Jjemba Ukasha are also unavailable, as they are on national team duty with the U20 and U17 sides respectively.
Historically, KCCA hold a strong record against Kataka, winning two and drawing one of their last three competitive meetings.
The Cityzens secured 3-0 victories in the first two encounters before the sides shared a 1-1 draw in the Uganda Cup in May 2025.
