Kampala Corporate Women Cooperative Society Limited (KCW SACCO) will host the KCW SACCO Run 2026 on Saturday, 7th November 2026, at the Lugogo MTN Arena in Kampala, as part of nationwide commemorations of World Savings Day.
The event, themed “AI Advises, Human Decides — Saving is Our Choice,” will bring together SACCO members, corporate partners and the general public for a 5km/10km run in aid of vulnerable, women-led households in Kampala’s Katanga and Kawempe slums.
Running from 6:45 am to 12:00 pm, the event will combine the timed run through the scenic Kololo Hills with financial literacy talks and exhibitions, giving participants practical guidance on saving, budgeting, and the responsible use of emerging tools such as artificial intelligence in personal financial decision-making. Registration is open at UGX 45,000, which includes a branded vest and bag, with organisers targeting approximately 400 participants.
Proceeds from the run will go directly toward strengthening the savings capacity and economic resilience of women-led households in Katanga and Kawempe, two of Kampala’s most economically vulnerable communities. The initiative is anchored in Uganda’s Third National Development Plan (NDP III), Vision 2040 and the National Financial Inclusion Strategy, and advances Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty), 5 (Gender Equality) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
