Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and singer Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and other opposition MPs have been released following their arrest on Tuesday afternoon.
Bobi Wine was in the company of MPs Mose Kasibante and Ssemujju Nganda when they were arrested and taken to Nagalama Police Station, where they were held for several hours.
“Today has been a very traumatizing day. After a bomb attack that almost killed my children, I got arrested and driven to Nagalama police together with my colleague MPs who had come home to see me. We have just been released now,” Bobi Wine wrote on Facebook after he was released.
“This is all meant to torture me physically and psychologically so as to break my spirit. I want to tell you this again, My heart is hard like rock and I WILL NEVER GIVE UP UNTIL UGANDA IS FREE,” he added.
The MPs were allegedly arrested for jumping bond conditions following last week’s Parliament Age Limit scuffle.
