Singer Eddy Kenzo has won the ‘Award of Prestige’ at the African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA) in a ceremony that happened in New Jersey, USA on Saturday.
Eddy Kenzo expressed excitement on winning the award.
“I wish I was there to receive this award in person; this means a lot to me,” he informed his fans.
“Being honoured by award of prestige at my age is legendary. My dear God, you’re so good to me. It’s very hard to be appreciated when you’re still alive [but I have been while still alive at least.”
The ‘sitya loss’ singer dedicated the award to his fans, before delving into politics.
“I’m forever grateful. I dedicate this award to all my true fans. And I would also like to take this opportunity and dedicate this award to all my Ugandan people worldwide,” further wrote Kenzo.
“This message is to all of us. We have become too political to everything, things that do not either matter or build us. Things that can lead us to hate and boycotting unnecessary situations. Let’s not put ourselves in [a situation that will make us] regret of consequences [but rather] think of ideas to develop our nation.”
The “Award Of Prestige” goes to an artist who has done excellently in humanitarian works and entertainment circles.
“Eddy Kenzo has not only enriched the lives of others in Uganda and Africa through his music and soul searching melodies but he has also helped to improve the lives of children in his community which has paved the way for this children to a brighter tomorrow,” said African Entertainment Awards USA in praise of Kenzo.
