Kenyatta Speaks Out on Nairobi Terrorist Attack

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has promised that the country’s security agencies will continue to hunt down every individual that was involved in the Tuesday Nairobi attack to make them pay fully.

“We’ll continue to pursue every person that was involved in funding, planning and execution of yesterday’s terrorist attacks. We’ll hunt them down wherever they are and they will pay,” he said.

Kenyatta made the promise while addressing the nation on Tuesday morning, a few hours after 6 terrorists were neutralized.

Of the six terrorists who are believed to be part of Islamic militant group Al Shabaab, five were gunned down by security personnel while one blew himself up with explosives.

In his address, the President commended security agencies for the job done in rescuing civilians who were caught in the hotel despite a few fatalities.

“Even though we regret the incident yesterday, as commander in chief I would like to commend security personnel for their tireless work in rescuing cicilians.”

“Over 700 civilians were rescued from the time of the attack all throughout the night. This shows that we are ready to deal with any threat to our nation.”

Kenyatta applauded Kenyan citizens and the international community for the encouragement and togetherness shown during the trying moments.

He called upon everyone to go back to work, assuring them of security.

“We are in a process of building a secure and inclusive Kenya and we’ll allow no one to derail us. We have prevailed and shall always prevail over evil,” he said.

“Kenya remains unshaken and unbowed. Let us now go back to work without fear and continue with our task of building our nation.”
