Juma Seiko Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Kalerwe Shooting

The Police have preferred charges of attempted murder against Lt. Col. Juma Seiko after a shooting in Kalerwe roundabout in Kampala.

Seiko was dragged to Kawempe Police station on Sunday after he reportedly opened fire, injuring three in the process. According to reports, he opened fire when a driver of Fuso truck registration number UAZ 113X knocked his vehicle. A scuffle ensued and was climaxed with a shooting.

The injured are Ali Jjuko, Zimula Kasirye and Joseph Lule. Seiko was arrested and detained for a short while before being released on bond.

Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesman Luke Owoyesigyire said on Sunday that the victims had been rushed to Mulago national referral hospital and that investigation into the matter are ongoing.
