The Police have arrested the prime suspect in the murder of Sheikh Mutumba Masudi of Bugiri. Through a tweet on Wednesday, police said the suspect had been nabbed by the flying squad team.
The suspect has been on the run since Friday last week when Mutumba was gunned down at his home in Lwemba, Bugiri.
No details have been provided about the suspect yet. The number of arrested suspects is now eight, according to information provided by the police on Tuesday.
Among those arrested is a boda boda rider who is alleged to have transported the killer to and from Mutumba’s home.
Enanga revealed that the deceased could have been killed due to a land wrangle with a one Suleiman Kouta. The two had been battling for ownership of land which the deceased won in Bugiri high court.
