The government of Uganda has halted arrangements to repatriate Ugandans who are stuck in foreign nations due to travel restrictions occasioned by Covid19.
Uganda has been bringing home a number of her citizens over the past weeks, but now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reportedly directed all Ugandan Missions to put on hold the repatriation exercise for a fortnight.
A number of returnees have tested positive for Covid19 which has prompted the Ministry to suspend the repatriation.
Earlier this week, 11 returnees from Afghanistan tested positive for Covid19. 2 that came from India on Thursday also tested positive.
The number in quarantines is also said to be high, therefore, the ministry wants to manage the overwhelming numbers before bringing in more people.
