President elect Yoweri Museveni Tibuhaburwa Kaguta will Thursday make a grand entry into the capital Kampala, five days after he was declared winner of the January 14th elections.
Museveni who beat competition from 10 other contestants has been at his home in Rwakitura, Western Uganda where he retreated to cast his vote.
According to officials with in the National Resistance Movement, the President elect will travel from Rwakitura by road and is expected to make several stopovers along his way to Kampala.
His first stopover will be at Lyantonde at midday, then Kyazanga at 1PM, Lukaya Market at 2PM, Kayabwe at 3PM, Mpigi at 4PM, and finally Busega at 5PM before proceeding to enter the capital.
In Kampala, President elect Museveni will address the nation at the Uganda Media Centre where he will make comments about the general elections in his capacity as the incumbent president.
Museveni was declared winner of the 2021 presidential elections on Saturday January 16th after polling 5,851,037 which is 58.64% of the total votes cast.
He was followed by National Unity Platform – NUP’s Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi who polled 3,475,298 votes which represent 34.83% of the total number of votes cast.
