At least 37 people have been arrested for flouting President Museveni’s directive on closure of bars, The Tower Post has learnt.

This was revealed by ASP Luke Owoyesigire the Deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police on Sunday evening.

“37 people have been arrested today for flouting COVID-19 guidelines on bars,” Owoyesigire said in a tweet.

“The operation was carried out in Luzira at Samaki Hub and floating Island. They are currently detained at Jinja Road Police and will be arraigned in court tomorrow,” he added.
