Singer Reagan Muhairwe, famously known as Ray G was Sunda pelted with bottles by angry revellers as he performed at the Enkuuka festival in Mengo.
Enkuuka is a significant event in the Buganda kingdom, taking place annually on December 31 at the Mengo palace.
It marks the transition into the New Year and embodies the unity and festivity that define Buganda’s cultural heritage.
The event attracted massive crowds and featured performances by artists such as Big Eye, Pallaso among others.
Despite fans hurling insults and bottles at him, Ray G displayed remarkable composure and continued his performance, defusing any potential escalation in the situation.
However, due to the continued insults and bottle-throwing, his performance was cut short.
Earlier last week, singer Priscilla Zawedde, also known as Azawi, demanded an apology from Ray G for disrespecting her and interrupting her performance in Mbarara.
During a Comedy Store show at the University Inn in Mbarara, Ray G stepped on stage right when Azawi was about to start her performance.
This caused a standstill for a few minutes and created an uproar among fans on social media.
Azawi released a statement claiming that Ray G verbally abused her and disrupted her performance, emphasizing that she deserves an apology for his unprofessional behavior.
Ray G has faced criticism for not being fair to Azawi, especially in Mbarara where he is more popular and it happens to be his hometown.
