Lwemiyaga County Member of Parliament, Theodore Ssekikubo, has written to the Inspector General of Police requesting armed escorts and protection following a violent incident during his campaign activities in which one of his supporters was shot dead.
In his letter, Ssekikubo, who is vying for the NRM flag for Lwemiyaga County in the 2026–2031 elections, said he was attacked by armed members of the UPDF on June 26, 2025.
He says the attack happened in Kirega, Kampala Parish in Lwemiyaga County and was allegedly led by Lt. Bashir Zziwa under the instructions of his political rival, Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Rwashande and one of his supporters was shot dead while another was injured.
Ssekikubo sustained injuries.
Once beaten, twice shy, Ssekikubo now fears for his life as the primaries are held later today.
“In view of the ongoing electoral exercise, this is therefore to request for police protection during this period,” Ssekikubo wrote in his letter
