Two weeks ago, social media influencer and socialite Christine Nampeera, using her X handle (@nampeera_), posted a series of tweets that sparked a buzz.
With a playful yet poignant question: “Which BODY deserves the most protection? My body, my car body, or both?” accompanied by stunning images of her celebrating a new car gift, Nampeera sought dual protection for her curves and her ride.
Many netizens and Ugandans on X took it as a joke, but Liberty Uganda saw an opportunity to address a real need.
In a bold move to bridge the glaring gaps in Uganda’s motor insurance landscape and to revolutionize affordable motor insurance for drivers, Liberty General Insurance Uganda Ltd, in partnership with Stanbic Bancassurance Agency and SafeBoda, today unveiled Protecta Bode, a groundbreaking, low-cost insurance product tailored for the everyday motorist.
Protecta Bode, a revolutionary and affordable motor insurance product, has been designed to safeguard both drivers and their vehicles.
In reality, Christine’s tweets highlighted a universal truth that our bodies and our rides deserve equal care. Protecta Bode is the answer, blending protection with accessibility for Uganda’s motorists who want more protection from what is covered using the affordable Motor 3rd Party, but with extra benefits offered by comprehensive motor insurance.
Nampeera’s posts underscored her rising status and the value she places on her assets, and Liberty Uganda recognized this as a moment to bridge the insurance gap, drawing on insights from the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) report that highlighted financial constraints, inadequate statutory third-party cover, and adverse claims perceptions as key barriers.
Protecta Bode therefore meets the actual needs of motor users, focusing on external vehicle damage, third-party liability, and driver injuries. Priced at just 1.5% of the vehicle’s market value, Protecta Bode is distributed through Stanbic Bancassurance Agency and SafeBoda’s SafeCar program.
By partnering with Stanbic Bancassurance and SafeBoda, Protecta Bode reaches Uganda’s vibrant hail riding community and beyond. This launch was indeed a tribute to influencers like Christine Nampeera, whose voice turned a social media moment into a movement for better protection.
