KCCA FC Edges Buhimba United to Extend Uganda Premier League Lead

KCCA FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Buhimba United Saints to consolidate their position at the top of the Uganda Premier League.

Rogers Mugisha scored his first goal of the season in the 27th minute, finishing off a rebound after goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba failed to hold onto Herbert Achayi’s powerful strike.

Despite dominating possession for large parts of the match, KCCA struggled to convert their chances into a more comfortable lead. Sammy Ssebaduka’s header went narrowly wide, Lazaro Bwambale’s long-range effort sailed over the crossbar, and Saidi Mayanja’s shot rattled the side netting after beating the keeper.

Buhimba had few opportunities, with Martin Opolot missing a free kick from a promising position and Anwar Ntege being denied by KCCA goalkeeper Anthony Emojong.

The win marked KCCA FC’s fifth consecutive victory since their 1-0 loss to Vipers at Kitende. They now top the table with 26 points, five ahead of second-placed Vipers, who have played two games fewer.

Buhimba United remain in the relegation zone with just 10 points, having failed to register a win in their last eight matches.
