KCCA FC will look to extend their resurgence when they travel to face Buhimba United Saints at Midigo on Monday in the Uganda Premier League.
The Lugogo-based side returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over BUL FC, snapping a two-game losing streak against NEC and Entebbe UPPC.
In the reverse fixture at Lugogo last December, KCCA secured a narrow 1-0 win courtesy of Roger Mugisha’s strike.
Co-coach Jackson Magera stressed the importance of intensity and clinical finishing against a desperate Buhimba side.
“In games like this, it is about showing up and fighting for every 50/50 chance. Buhimba is fighting for their lives, so we must be better and be clinical,” Magera said.
KCCA have strengthened their squad in the mid-season transfer window with the signings of Axel Mezui and Kennedy Muserero.
Muserero has traveled with the team to Hoima, while Mezui’s paperwork is still pending and he did not make the trip.
Magera expressed optimism about the new arrivals: “The two will add so much to the team’s depth and tactical flexibility.”
Attacking midfielder Bright Anukani is set to make his league season debut, while assistant captain Derrick Nsibambi remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Buhimba United Saints, meanwhile, are expected to hand debuts to new signings Simon Baligeya, Davis Ssali, and Musa Ssali as they battle to climb out of the relegation zone.
KCCA currently occupy 5th position on the log, while Buhimba United Saints languish in 14th and are fighting for survival.
A win for the visitors would further solidify their push for a top-four finish and potential continental qualification, while Buhimba will be desperate for points to avoid the drop.
Kick-off is scheduled for Monday at Midigo Stadium in Yumbe.
