MTN Uganda, through its Enterprise Business Unit (EBU), today hosted a Ramadhan Iftar dinner for Muslim business leaders at Mestil Hotel & Residences, reaffirming its commitment to celebrating and supporting the Muslim community during the Holy Month through its “Ramadhan Kareem with MTN” campaign.
The evening brought together leaders from across Uganda’s Muslim business community for prayer, reflection, and fellowship, underscoring MTN Uganda’s continued partnership with enterprises and institutions that drive the country’s economic growth.
Speaking at the dinner, Ibrahim Senyonga, the General Manager of Enterprise Business at MTN Uganda, emphasized the importance of connection, community, and shared prosperity during Ramadhan.
“Ramadhan Kareem with MTN is our commitment as MTN Uganda to celebrate and support the Muslim community during this sacred season. As we gather this evening with leaders who are shaping Uganda’s business landscape, we are reminded that connectivity is more than technology, it is about enabling growth, strengthening relationships, and building resilient enterprises,” Senyonga said.
He noted that through the MTN Enterprise Business Unit, MTN continues to provide tailored telecommunications, ICT solutions, and digital services to businesses ranging from SMEs to large corporations and government institutions, ensuring they remain competitive and digitally empowered.
As part of the broader Ramadhan campaign, MTN Uganda is offering special seasonal bundle offers designed to help customers stay connected affordably during the Holy Month. Customers who purchase any voice or data bundle worth UGX 1000 or more in a day receive 10 free MTN-to-MTN minutes valid from 12:00am to 5:00am the following day, enabling families and loved ones to connect during Suhoor and other late-night moments of reflection.
Senyonga added that beyond connectivity, MTN is rewarding customers for staying connected through affordable bundle offers, with lucky customers winning prizes throughout the season.
In addition to the connectivity offers, MTN as a whole is present physically within communities during Ramadhan. Through MTN MoMo’s alms giving initiatives, food hampers are being distributed to vulnerable groups across the country, including women road workers and inmates at Luzira Prison. Furthermore, customers who send or receive money via MTN MoMo International Money Transfer during the Holy Month stand a chance to win a fully sponsored trip to any destination, strengthening global family connections during Ramadhan.
The Chief Guest, the Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority, Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki, applauded MTN Uganda and Salam TV Uganda for bringing together Muslim business leaders for the Ramadhan Iftar dinner. She commended MTN Uganda for its continued support to communities, including vulnerable groups, through initiatives such as alms giving to hospitals, prisons, and KCCA city cleaners. Hajjat Buzeki also expressed optimism for continued collaboration between the private sector and the city authority to help Kampala thrive.
The Iftar dinner forms part of MTN Uganda’s wider Ramadhan Kareem with MTN engagements, which include mosque activations, community outreach initiatives, and customer rewards throughout the fasting period.
Through these initiatives, MTN Uganda continues to reinforce its role not only as a telecommunications and digital solutions provider, but as a committed partner to Uganda’s communities — celebrating faith, enabling connection, and supporting shared progress during Ramadhan.
