KCB Bank Uganda Hosts Iftar Dinner Celebrating Community and Togetherness During Ramadan

KCB Bank Uganda hosted a special Ramadan Iftar dinner that brought together members of its community for a moment of reflection, gratitude, and unity during the holy month of Ramadan.

The gathering, held at Four Points by Sheraton Kampala, provided an opportunity for guests to come together to break the fast while celebrating the spirit of compassion, generosity, and togetherness that defines the sacred month.

Edgar Byamah, Managing Director of KCB Bank Uganda, said the occasion reflected the Bank’s commitment to nurturing meaningful relationships and celebrating the diversity of the communities it serves.

“It is truly an honour to share this moment in such a special month,” Byamah said. “As I was sharing with the Sheikh, the discipline and commitment that Muslims demonstrate in their faith always inspires us non-Muslims. Over the years, we have also seen how the business community, especially those in catering, has adapted to the needs of the larger Muslim community. What was once difficult to find has now become widely available, with hotels and restaurants offering proper Iftar packages.”

He emphasized that Ramadan is not only about fasting but also about generosity, compassion, and supporting those around us.

“Ramadan is about giving back. It is about supporting those around us and living a life focused on Transforming Today Together. We are reminded of our responsibility to contribute positively to the communities we serve, which aligns deeply with the purpose of our bank.”

The Managing Director also noted that KCB Bank branches across the country will continue engaging with Muslim communities throughout the month.

“Across our network, our branches will reach out to Muslim communities through their mosques to extend our appreciation and commitment. As we break the fast tonight, let us carry this spirit of unity back to our branches, our offices, and our families. We are strongest when we support one another’s journey, whether spiritual or professional,” he concluded.

The evening’s Guest of Honour, Sheikh Kibirango, commended the bank for recognizing the significance of the holy month and fostering an atmosphere of inclusion and respect.

“Ramadan reminds us of the values of patience, humility, generosity, and service to humanity. When institutions create spaces where people can come together in reflection and unity, it strengthens the bonds within our communities. We appreciate KCB Bank for extending this gesture and standing with the Muslim community during this important time.”

In the spirit of sharing and giving that defines Ramadan, KCB Bank Uganda also presented food hampers to members of the Muslim community in attendance, supporting them as they observe the holy month.

The Iftar dinner offered a warm and welcoming space for reflection and connection as guests observed the traditional breaking of the fast together. The evening also featured conversations on the significance of Ramadan and the importance of fostering compassion, humility, and service to others.

Through engagements such as this, KCB Bank Uganda continues to strengthen relationships within its community while reaffirming its role as a trusted partner committed to shared progress and social impact.
