The National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga has said that the officials of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) should be jailed.
Odinga spoke to reporters after the Supreme Court ordered the nullification of the reelection of his rival Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday.
The Supreme Court has since ordered the IEBC to conduct a fresh poll within 60 days.
“IEBC committed criminal act and belong to jail,” said Odinga.
His running mate, Kalonzo Musyoka, added: “We will have to look deeply into the conduct of IEBC. We do not have faith that they can conduct a credible election.”
Odinga lawyer James Orengo said IEBC should not be allowed to preside over another election.
“What IEBC did was treasonable because they wanted to declare the presidency against the Constitution. I don’t think IEBC will preside over the election.”
