Singer Eddy Kenzo has revealed that he is the most famous Ugandan in the world.
The Big Talent Entertainment singer was speaking at the 2017 Uganda Entertainment Awards ceremony held at The Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday evening while receiving the award for Video Producer of the Year on behalf of filmmaker Sasha Vybz who was absent.
“Many of you laugh at me when I choose to use Luganda but I can speak English very well. I simply chose to speak to you in Luganda today because I am so fluent in my own language and besides, we are in Uganda right now,” Eddy Kenzo said.
“I have travelled to over 90 countries and what many of you don’t know, is that I am the most famous Ugandan in the world,” the singer added.
Eddy Kenzo added the late former Ugandan president Idi Amin Dada, comedienne Anne Kansiime and the Triplets Ghetto Kids dancers on his list of the most famous Ugandans.
“We are the most famous. After us, comes President Museveni and then others. I am not bragging, I am just being honest,” Kenzo noted.
The singer won three awards at the Uganda Entertainment Awards ceremony.
