UCU Saddened by Kaweesi’s Demise: ‘He was a Scheduled Speaker at Our Seminar’

The Uganda Christian University (UCU) has expressed condolences and sadness at the knowledge  of the death of Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the deceased Police Spokesperson and Director of Human Resource in the Uganda Police Force.

Afande Kaweesi was one of the scheduled speakers at a UCU Finalist Career Seminar taking place today, March 17th, 2017 at UCU’s Nkoyoyo Hall.

Held per semester, the seminar brings together our final students to offer them career tips to prepare them for life beyond the university.

Kaweesi was due to speak at 10:00 am on the theme, “Career opportunities in the Armed forces and how to find them.” He was to speak alongside the UPDF Spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire and Mr. Frank Baine, the spokesperson Uganda Prisons Service who have indeed honoured our invitation.

It was thus most shocking to hear the news of his brutal demise at a time we were expecting him.

We last spoke to AIGP Kaweesi yesterday afternoon when he re-confirmed his presence.

We convey our heartfelt sympathies to his family, Uganda Police Force and the entire country.

Even as we mourn his passing, we are comforted by his good deeds which will surely live on.
