Zari Hassan, the ex-lover of fallen socialite Ivan Semwanga, and her three children will take over the late Rich Gang Boss’ house in Sandton, an affluent suburb in the South African city of Johannesburg.
The resolution to give Zari the Sandton House was reached by a meeting of family relatives and friends of the Semwangas that happened at Muyenga in Kampala Saturday evening.
Also present at the meeting was Kwagalana Group chairman Geoffrey Kirumira and member Joseph Bbosa.
It was also resolved that Semwanga’s house in Pretoria be rented out to provide money for family upkeep.
Meanwhile, Zari will manage his fallen ex-lover’s schools in South Africa while Semwanga’s sister Ritah Ssemwanga, his elder brother George Pinto Ssemwanga and Lawrence Muyanja (popularly known as King Lawrence) will manage other properties.
Hours after Semwanga’s death, his family members swore that Zari would not inherit their son’s property, arguing that she had broken his heart and caused him depression, which one member claimed had led to the fallen Rich Gang boss’ demise in the long run.
But the family members would later apologise to Zari and preach unity during a requiem service at Namirembe Cathedral in Kampala.
