A South Sudanese man has killed a pastor for reportedly making noise during church services in the Munuki suburb of the capital Juba.

The murdered cleric has been identified as Joel Mwendwa and served of Christ’s Ministry in Munuki.

Mwendwa was cut severally with a machete, and bled to death.

Police in Juba say they have arrested the Mwendwa’s killer.

According to South Sudan police spokesperson Daniel Justin Boula, “the suspect has confessed during the investigation and said that he killed the pastor because he used to make noise with loudspeakers every morning in the church.”

Boula added: “The pastor was killed in the morning on Friday when people were praying in the church. The pastor was attacked after he closed his eyes during prayers.”
