“We are the world” is the title of one of the most popular songs whose main message alludes to the fact that; to help is human and desperate times call for desperate measures.
These calls were heard and AAR Insurance in conjunction with Finance Trust Bank came to the rescue of a one year and 3 months-old baby (Agnes Nakimera) in urgent need of an open heart surgery.
The operation is to cost Shs24,120,000 and will be conducted at Narayana Hospital in India.
Nakimera is the daughter of Immaculate Namwanga, an employee of the Finance Trust Bank.
Finance Trust Bank as an institution offered Shs4,000,000 which was handed over by the Managing Director, Mrs. Annet Mulindwa Nakawunde.
“As Finance Trust Bank, we believe that any staff to produce good quality work, themselves and their families must be healthy.”
Finance Trust Bank staff also contributed UGX 2,500,000 to the cause.
AAR Insurance, Finance Trust Bank’s medical insurer contributed Shs10,000,000 to the total cost of the operation.
As he handed over the UGX 10,000,000 cheque, Mr. Mohammed Ssebaale, the Chief Finance Officer of AAR Insurance explained that while the package Agnes Namwanga is on does not cater for cases of this magnitude, they are inclined to go an extra mile to support their clients and the general public in every way they can.
“This goes beyond money. The onus is upon us all to do whatever we can, to help and we urge every able person and companies to contribute to drives of this nature because together, there is no limit to what we can accomplish” Mr. Mohammed Ssebaale added.
A visibly emotional and overjoyed Immaculate Namwanga thanked all contributors for coming out to support her daughter.
She also pledged to remain at the fore front of such drives because many more people are in need of this kind of urgent help.
