Iganga District Woman MP Grace Hailat Kaudha Magumba has died.
Kaudha who belonged to the National Resistance Movement (NRM), died at the KCCA Mulago Referral Hospital in Kawempe at around 2:00AM on Saturday morning.
“The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga regrets to announce the death of Iganga District Woman MP Kaudha Grace Hailat which occurred last night,” Chris Obore, the Director of Communications and Public Affairs confirmed on Saturday morning.
This website understands that Kaudha, who was pregnant, developed abdominal pains and was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to preeclampsia, a type of high blood pressure common in pregnant women.
The 31-year-old was five-months pregnant.
She was serving her first term as Member of Parliament.
She becomes the third MP to die in the 10th Parliament after Toroma County MP Cyrus Amodoi and Hon Anne Logiel, who was Moroto Woman MP.
