Tycoon Kirumira Demands Apology from Vision Group Over Crane Bank Saga

City businessman Godfrey Kirumira has threatened to sue Vision Group over alleged defamation.

This comes after Vision Group daily newspapers, The New Vision and Bukedde implicated the property mogul in the alleged Crane Bank fraud which involves Ugandan billionaire Sudhir Rupaleria.

Sudhir was recently dragged to the Commercial Court by Bank of Uganda for allegedly causing Crane Bank financial loss amounting to $92million (about Shs 331 billion) through fraudulent transactions.

Through his lawyers from Tumusiime, Kabega and Company Advocates, Kirumira has demanded that Vision Group retract the said articles, which according to him are “false” as he is “neither a shareholder nor a Director at Crane Bank”.

Kirumira has also demanded a public apology from  Vision Group before Saturday July 15th 2017 lest he drags them to court.

The businessman says the publication of the “false articles” has caused him “embarrassment, anxiety and caused him to be shunned in society and also hurt his business”.

Here is the Notice of Intention to Sue sent to Vision Group by Kirumira’s lawyers:
