Young Achievers Awards 2017: Full List of Winners

The 2017 Young Achievers Awards gala night took place last Saturday (August 12th) at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

The Young Achievers Awards aim to identify and recognize young people in Uganda that have demonstrated excellence, innovation and leadership in their respective fields.

The awards gala, which was an invite-only event, attracted by a number of city celebrities, government officials like Trade Minister Amelia Kyambadde among others, private sector, the nominees and the media.

“The awards overall objective is to showcase the best examples of young entrepreneurs and leaders to serve as examples for their peers, so that they may inspire an entire generation to do just as much or even more,” Humphrey Nabimanya, the Team Leader & Founder of Reach A Hand Uganda said.

Prof. Peter Mugyenyi was honoured with the ‘Heroes Award, for demonstrating excellence in fighting HIV/AIDS in Uganda and beyond, while Hon. Amelia Kyambadde was awarded with the ‘The Young Achievers Star Hall of Fame’  for her exceptional commitment and sacrifice in supporting the Young Achievers Awards Program and the youth in Uganda.

Musicians Allan Toniks, Nutty Neithan, Geosteady, Mun-G and Naava Grey entertained guests at the awards gala with wonderful music performances.
